The Canadian Conference of MB Churches serves not only as the governing body of the MB community on a national level, but also to work together with the provincial MB conferences across Canada to create and support healthy churches reaching their worlds.
The Canadian conference and the provincial conferences are separately organized bodies. Local congregations first join their respective provincial conferences, and by virtue of that, become part of the Canadian conference. However, both national and provincial bodies are committed to working together in serving congregations and helping them succeed in growth and mission and are involved in ongoing collaborative dialogue to achieve that.
In 2019, the MB churches approved a restructuring to implement the Collaborative Unified Strategic Plan (the CUSP) in efforts to achieve a Collective Impact as a denomination. Since provincial conferences are the closest organization to the churches in a given region, they will be the primary locus of coordination and distribution of resources. Agencies and the national office will work with and through provincial conferences.
