The Mennonite Brethren Historical Commission is responsible for fostering historical understanding and appreciation within the Mennonite Brethren Church in Canada and the United States. It fulfills this goal by:
- Coordinating the collection, preservation and cataloging of Mennonite Brethren conference archival records, in cooperation with a network of Mennonite Brethren archival centers.
- Publishing books and audio-visual material relating to the history of the Mennonite Brethren Church. Please refer to our list of all currently available publications. The Commission has also published a Basic Mennonite Library for Mennonite Brethren Congregations, a bibliography of items that it recommends for all Mennonite Brethren church libraries.
- Sponsoring conferences and symposia on topics relating to Mennonite Brethren history.
- Publishing the Profiles of Mennonite Faith series.
