PCO is a pastoral-equipping and orientation event, led by MB Biblical Seminary faculty and CCMBC staff. It is for those who are new to ministry within the MB conference and for others who are seeking a refresher on MB history, theology and resources. Those who attend and complete the requirements are eligible for pastor’s credentialing through their respective provincial conferences. The National Assembly is the decision-making body of the Canadian Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches and the Collaborative Model. The delegates of the National Assembly include all members of the provincial executive/leadership boards, National Assembly Executive, the National Faith and Life Team, the Multiply board, the MB Seminary board, and all members of the National Ministry Team. Delegates vote on matters of vision, budget, receiving of financial statements, and the election of officers and directors.
The National Assembly meets in-person annually and may call extraordinary meetings as it deems necessary. The next gathering of the National Assembly is June June 5-6, 2020, at Bakerview MB Church in Abbotsford, B.C.
Motion to recommend the presented draft of Article 8-Christian Baptism for inclusion in the Confession of Faith in place of the 1999 version of the Article. (www.mennonitebrethren.ca/article-8). This recommendation will then be presented at 2021 provincial assemblies and conventions for approval.
The National Faith & Life Team invites the MB community to study and be equipped together, to effectively bring the transforming message of God’s word to the world around us.
