CCMBC statement on the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women

by CCMBC Communications

Scripture teaches that men and women “are joint heirs of the grace of life” (1 Peter 3:7). On National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women, we confess that patriarchal attitudes (present even in our churches) can contribute toward violence against women. We condemn gender-based violence, especially the epidemic of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, and affirm the dignity and agency of women. #MyActionsMatter #EndVAW #MMIWG

God’s light shines in the darkness,
and the darkness cannot put it out.
We live with the pain of Eden’s curse,
we live with the promise of Eden regained.
