On Friday, June 16, there will be a 90 minute conference call that all MB church attenders are invited to participate in, as first announced in the MB Mission/C2C Q&A document. The purpose of the call is to answer questions regarding the proposed motion “that MB Mission assume responsibility for the mission and ministry of C2C network”. This motion will be brought to a vote by the delegates on November 1, 2017 at a Special General Meeting prior to Equip Study Conference 2017.

The call will be held at 9:30 am (Pacific Time) and will begin with the moderator of the call introducing presenters Steve Berg (CCMBC Interim Executive Director), Jim Davidson (CCMBC CFO), Michael Dick (Executive Board Assistant Moderator) and Executive Board Moderator Bruce Enns providing an introduction to the call. This will be followed by a Q&A.

The Q&A format will allow participants to enter a question queue. The operator will give instructions on how to enter the queue before the call begins. As the participant’s turn comes up they must provide their name, their church, to whom they are addressing the question and then their question. They will then be muted (to maintain sound quality) and the question will be answered. If a participant has more than one question they will have to re-enter the queue.

To participate in the call, you may use the numbers listed below. Once dialed, you will be greeted by an operator saying that you are joining the CCMBC Conference Call and will be asked your name and what church you attend, followed by the instructions for entering the queue.

The company providing the service is called Chorus Call.

Question 1- The available financial documents make it difficult to ask meaningful questions. Is there a place where more detailed breakdowns can be seen? For example, it is my understanding that MB church plants run their books through C2C. Are the contributions made to those church plants seen to part of C2C for the purpose of establishing its actual cost?

Question 2- As MB churches we benefit from the CCMBC by way of administrative financial and payroll benefits. These costs are embedded in the CCMBC Consolidated Budget. I assume that is the case for C2C’s administrative costs. Will that continue under the new structure or will that shift to MBM? Will MBM fully administer C2C independently of the CCMBC and the only C2C cost is the agreed to contribution?

Question 3- The challenge of accountability of C2C to the MB churches of Canada is very significant. The current proposal would seem to make that even more difficult. Is that seen to be the case by those advocating this change?

Question 4- In the May 26 Q&A email, 5 options were listed [p7]. #3 was deemed to be the best. Is there a place for a fuller discussion of the 5 options?

Comment/question- The process feels like a fait accompli. The house is built and paid for and now the owners are being asked for approval. What happens if they say no? Is there a plan B?
