The C2C network is pleased to announce the appointment of Greg Laing as Ontario regional director. C2C regional directors work as a team under national director Gord Fleming. They identify, assess, and coach church planters; represent and promote church plants to churches in their regions; fundraise; and serve on new church task forces.
Greg is currently working with the Imagine Thailand Foundation in Bangkok, and will take the next few months to transition from this role in Bangkok to his new role in Toronto. Greg will have a two-month orientation with the national C2C team in B.C. before settling into his new role in Ontario around mid-July 2013.
Born and raised in Oakville, Ontario, Greg studied at LeTourneau University, Longview, Texas, and at Houghton College in Houghton, New York, before moving to Vancouver to complete his Masters in Christian Studies.
Greg was involved in the Oakville Alliance Church plant, where he served as church planting intern. Greg first became associated with the C2C network in Vancouver while pastoring Point Grey Community Church in the role of lead pastor. Greg served at Point Grey for 17 years before taking on his role in Thailand. Greg was involved in planting two churches out of Point Grey, one at the University of B.C. and the other in East Vancouver.
Greg serves on the Church Planting Guiding Group with the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada (B.C. & Yukon District) and, through that affiliation, has worked interdenominationally with the Mennonite Brethren in B.C. Greg also served as the Section Pastor for the PAOC (B.C. District) in Vancouver, where he coached and encouraged pastors and churches in that geographical area.
Leaders from Ontario and the national office interviewed Greg, and unanimously affirm his calling. Greg is now looking forward to being credentialed with the MB family. “Please join me in welcoming Greg to his new role and pray with us for a smooth transition,” says C2C national director Gord Fleming.
Greg and his wife Andrea have two children: Parker, 12, and Alicia, 10.
C2C network is a Mennonite Brethren-based, interdenominational ministry that exists to catalyze church planting throughout Canada.
