CCMBC extends condolences and invites prayer for the family of Duane Boles
September 15, 2015
WINNIPEG—Duane Evan Boles, previous worship and arts pastor at Waterloo (Ont.) Mennonite Brethren Church (WMB), died Sept. 13, 2015, at 48. Duane went on medical leave in fall 2013 after he was diagnosed with a brain tumour, and later resigned.
Karen West, associate lead pastor at WMB Church, asks for prayer for Duane’s family and congregation, as they process this loss. “Duane was a gifted, sensitive, compassionate man who loved people deeply and longed for them to know Jesus,” she says. “He journeyed through cancer with an unshakable faith, and worshipped God every day. He’s still doing that now – especially now.”
Duane is mourned by Anita; children Tyler, Eden; mother Dorrell Boles; mother-in-law Mary Gingerich; and siblings.
Family will receive relatives and friends Sept. 15 and 16, 2015, 5–8 p.m. at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, Ont. The funeral is at WMB, 245 Lexington Road, Waterloo, Ont., Sept. 17, 2015 at 11 a.m. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to Waterloo Mennonite Brethren Church or the Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada.
