We designed our new website to be more useful, more resourceful and ready to grow in service with you. Here are a few highlights.

We designed our new website to be more useful, more resourceful and ready to grow in service with you. Here are a few highlights.

Welcome to MennoniteBrethren.ca, our new online presence. We’re really excited about the new site and its new features, but we’re particularly excited about the new approach underlying it all.

We’ve redesigned our website from the ground up (the old site at mbconf.ca will be phased out gradually) with access and growth in mind. Our focus is on providing valuable resources, information and contact for MBs across Canada, and the new site reflects that. For now, the site is foundational, something tech people like to call a “public beta.” We have several ideas about features we’d like to add next, but our intent is to grow the site and its features with you, considering feedback, measuring engagement and refining over time.

Here are a few things that make MennoniteBrethren.ca special:

1) A focus on connecting people with resources and information

Our main goal is to serve you well and to make sure you get connected with the information, resources and people that can help your ministry grow. We want to be a hub for MBs across the country. That’s why we’ve put the most relevant content front and centre on the home page and on dedicated pages for MB ministry and financial resources. We’ll feature different articles and resources over time.

Our comprehensive directory will connect you to the services we offer and the people who make them work, not to mention up to date listings of every MB church in Canada. Connecting has never been simpler.

2) Fresh content to help you in your ministry

Our blog will feature articles you can use—stories from around the conference, updates of what we’re doing to spread the gospel, theological reflections, and practical tips for living out your faith. We also want to encourage you to contribute! If you’d like to submit a blog post, please contact Laura Kalmar.

3) A simplified navigation focused on discovery

Rather than filing everything behind a complicated menu system, we’ve designed the site to provide you the most relevant information upfront. MennoniteBrethren.ca is designed to be browsed and discovered. Each article links you to related content, resources and people.

If you’re looking for something specific, our search engine will help you find what you’re looking for right away.

And we haven’t completely done away with the menu. At the bottom of every page, you’ll find a menu with the most frequently accessed areas of the site.If you don’t want to scroll all the way to the bottom, the “Menu” button at the top of the page will take you there.

4) A philosophy of adaptation and growth

Our site has been programmed with open-source, open-standards and best practices to ensure that it can evolve consistently over time. Rather than build a whole new site every few years, MennoniteBrethren.ca is designed to incorporate new features gradually, step by step, based on regular feedback and monitoring how people are using the site. We’ve built a solid base to get started from, and with your input, we’re going to make it even better in the months and years ahead.

This site is here to serve you and to adapt to your needs. We’re looking forward to growing it together.
